Transform Your Garage in 5 Easy Steps with These Decluttering Hacks

Transform Your Garage in 5 Easy Steps with These Decluttering Hacks

  1. Sort everything into categories. The first step to decluttering your garage is to sort everything into categories. Create piles for items you want to keep, donate, sell, or throw away. This will help you stay organized and focused.
  2. Be ruthless. One of the biggest obstacles to decluttering is the emotional attachment we have to our possessions. But if you want to transform your garage, you need to be ruthless. Ask yourself if you really need each item, and if it’s adding value to your life. If not, it’s time to let it go.
  3. Use storage solutions. Once you’ve sorted everything into categories, it’s time to organize the items you want to keep. Invest in storage solutions such as shelving, cabinets, and pegboards to maximize your space. Use clear plastic containers to store smaller items, so you can easily see what’s inside.
  4. Label everything. To keep your garage organized, label everything. This will help you find what you need quickly and easily. Use a label maker or simply write on masking tape and stick it onto the container.
  5. Make use of vertical space. Maximize your storage space by using the vertical space in your garage. Install shelving units and hooks on the walls to store items like bikes and lawn equipment. This will free up floor space and make it easier to find what you need.

By following these five easy steps, you can transform your garage into a functional and organized space. Remember to sort everything into categories, be ruthless, use storage solutions, label everything, and make use of vertical space. With a little time and effort, you’ll have a garage that you’ll love to use.

Transform Your Garage in 5 Easy Steps with These Decluttering Hacks. We are working in the Garage this week. Your task today for today, May 21st, is to: Declutter any unwanted, broken, or outgrown kids outdoor toys.

Maybe, if you’re like me, you hold onto boxes of some of your more expensive purchases, such as a TV or computer, just in case you need to return them within the store’s return policy time. If so, make a note to discard these boxes routinely(once a month is fine), so they don’t pile up.

Tip: When dealing with sentimental items such as trophies and photos, consider how you might display them in your home if you plan to keep them. For photos, consider storing them in a box or an album in your home.
