Decluttering 365 Tips

  • Start Small: Decluttering can feel like a daunting task, especially if you have a lot of stuff. To make the process less overwhelming, start small. Choose one area of your home, such as a closet or drawer, and declutter it completely before moving on to the next area.
  • Make it a Daily Habit: Set aside a few minutes each day to declutter. Whether it’s sorting through your mail or tidying up your desk, taking small steps every day can help prevent clutter from piling up.
  • Create a System: Having a system in place can make decluttering more efficient. Consider using the “one in, one out” rule, where you donate or sell an item for every new item you bring into your home. You can also create designated spaces for items, such as a basket for mail or a bin for toys, to prevent clutter from spreading.

  • Don’t Forget Digital Clutter: Clutter isn’t just physical, it can also be digital. Take some time to declutter your digital files, including your email inbox, computer files, and social media accounts. Unsubscribe from newsletters you no longer read and delete old files and photos.
  • Get Rid of Sentimental Clutter: Sentimental clutter can be the hardest to let go of, but it’s important to declutter these items to prevent them from taking up unnecessary space. Take photos of sentimental items and create a digital scrapbook to preserve the memories without the clutter.
  • Donate or Sell: One person’s clutter is another person’s treasure. Donate or sell items you no longer need or use. This not only helps you declutter but also benefits others who may be in need of these items.

Remember to start small, make it a daily habit, create a system, declutter digital files, get rid of sentimental clutter, and donate or sell items you no longer need. With a little effort, you can create a more organized and stress-free living space.
