How to Keep Your Bathroom Free of Clutter

1. Declutter Your Countertops:

The first tip on my list of tips for how to keep your bathroom free of clutter is to start by evaluating the items on your bathroom countertops. Clear off any unnecessary items, such as expired beauty products, old toothbrushes, or half-empty bottles. Keep only the essentials within easy reach.

2. Organize Your Drawers:

Invest in drawer organizers to keep your bathroom essentials neatly separated. Arrange items like toothpaste, brushes, and skincare products in designated compartments. This not only keeps things in order but also makes it easier to find what you need.

3. Utilize Vertical Space:

My next tips for how to keep your bathroom free of clutter is to look at all options and spaces you can store things. Maximize storage by utilizing vertical space. Install shelves or wall-mounted cabinets to store towels, toiletries, and other items. This not only frees up floor space but also adds a decorative element to your bathroom.

4. Sort and Purge:

Regularly go through your bathroom items and discard anything that is expired or no longer needed. Old medications, empty containers, and unused products can contribute to unnecessary clutter.

5. Invest in Storage Solutions:

Consider investing in storage solutions such as baskets, bins, or storage towers. These can be placed under the sink or on open shelves to keep various items organized and out of sight. Getting some good storage in this room is a great tip to consider when learning how to keep your bathroom free of clutter.

6. Create a Cleaning Routine:

Maintaining a clean and clutter-free bathroom requires a consistent cleaning routine. You can check out my links in this post on my free printables and free housekeeping ebook to help you create a cleaning routine. Wipe down surfaces, clean mirrors, and empty trash bins regularly. A clean space is less likely to accumulate clutter. Clutter breeds clutter, which is why we tend to pile things on an already messy area.

7. Limit Decorative Items:

While decorative items can add a touch of personality to your bathroom, too many can contribute to clutter. Choose a few key pieces and display them strategically to maintain a clean and organized look.

8. Implement a One-In-One-Out Rule:

For every new item you bring into the bathroom, consider removing an old or unused item. This rule helps prevent the accumulation of unnecessary items over time.

9. Opt for Multi-Functional Furniture:

Choose furniture that serves multiple purposes, such as a vanity with built-in storage or a mirrored cabinet. This not only saves space but also provides additional storage options.

10. Encourage Family Participation:

Get the whole family involved in maintaining a clutter-free bathroom. Teach children to put away their bath toys, and encourage everyone to follow the organization system you’ve implemented.
