Knowing how to make your home smell good starts with basic upkeep. The foundation of a good-smelling home is cleanliness. Regular cleaning routines for different areas of your house help eliminate bad odors at their source. Focus on maintaining a tidy and organized space to keep unwanted scents at bay. 2. Use Natural Air Fresheners or Plug-Ins
I am frugal buy nature, so I am going to help you learn how to make your home smell good using what you have whenever you can do so. Opt for natural air fresheners over synthetic ones. Essential oils are a fantastic way to introduce delightful scents into your home. Create your own DIY air fresheners using essential oils and water in a spray bottle for a natural and invigorating fragrance.
I also use scented plug ins in my outlets whenever I do want to spend a little money. These generally last 30 days for me. I know there are lots of ways to refill your plugins after they are used up. 3. Simmer Potpourri

I love candles but, I also love a good sale. I only buy my candles on clearance. I like to burn my scented candles in the kitchen at least an hour before guests arrive. For safety, I only burn them in a room I don’t forget about and in the room where we will be hanging out. Also, don’t burnt them in bedrooms or bathrooms within children’s reach, as they could easily hurt themselves or start a fire.
5. Bring in Houseplants
Certain houseplants not only add a touch of greenery but also naturally purify the air and introduce a fresh scent. Consider plants like lavender, jasmine, or eucalyptus to enhance both the air quality and fragrance in your home.

I make my own Febreeze spray but combining fabric softener and water in a spray bottle. You can then use your fabric spray on your furniture and even to freshen clothes that don’t need to be laundered daily.

Harness the power of baking soda to eliminate odors in different areas of your home. Place open boxes of baking soda in the refrigerator, sprinkle it on carpets before vacuuming, or use it as a natural deodorizer in shoes.

Maintain a fresh-smelling home by adopting a regular laundry routine and changing air filters as needed. Freshly laundered fabrics and clean filters contribute significantly to the overall scent of your home.
11. Don’t Neglect Pet Odors
If you have pets you know they can get smelly. We have a small indoor dog and a cat. To keep pet odors away, make sure your dog is washed and groomed. Also, be sure to launder the places they sleep, as pet beds can get smelly, too. I like to wash the dog and her bed on the same day. Our cat uses a litter box, which is another cause of odor in the home. Make sure you regularly scoop the litter and replace it completely as needed. Also, aim to keep the cat litter box in an area that can be swept or vacuumed easily.
