Today, I’ll cover how to clean white shoes. We’ll look at a few options you can choose based on the material of your shoes. It not only enhances your look but it prolongs the life of your shoes if they are as clean as possible. Plus, I’ll share my favorite methods below.

Now, let’s explore a few ways to clean white shoes starting with flip flops.
Here are a few tips on how to clean white shoes:
1. To clean rubber flip flops and rubber soles:
Here are a few tips that make your flip flops look as clean as new. The first option for washable shoes is that of using the washing machine. You can place the flip flops and detergent inside the washer and set the time for them to be cleaned.
Afterwards, it is best to hang them to dry once you remove them from the wash. I do not recommend putting your shoes into a clothes dryer. The heat from the dryer can damage the shoes.
You might also try cleaning them by adding some bleach along with the flip flops inside a plastic bucket. Do not place the bucket of bleach on any floor surface that can be ruined, such as carpet. You may try this process in a sink instead, or take the bucket outside to an outdoor surface, such as a concrete driveway.
It critical to ensure you don’t soak them long since the bleach will eat the rubber up, and this could cause your flip flops to lose shape.
Another strategy is the usage of a detergent and an old toothbrush or nail brush that cleans well into the creases. The toothbrush can be used to scrub the small patches which are found it the white flip flops so they can become sparkling clean. This particular method works well with regards to cleaning flip flop style shoes.
This allows your shoes to maintain their original look every time you wear them, ensuring that they appear new each time you put them on. Keeping shoes clean also allows for them to be durable and not wear out faster than they should.
Another good technique is the usage of beach sand and salty water. The reason for that is that these shoes are intended for the beach. Many people report that this method works miracles. The grit from the sand scours away dirt very well. Of course, if you don’t have access to sand, you can use another scouring option such as baking soda.
These techniques work well on cleaning rubber soles of any style of shoes.
How to Clean White Canvas Shoes
2. To clean white canvas tennis shoes/sneakers
First, you’ll make a paste of baking soda and vinegar. You can also try mixing baking soda and peroxide. Mix in a small bowl. Use a toothbrush or a nail brush to scrub the paste onto the fabric. Then, rinse with cold water. Repeat process as needed to ensure they get as clean as possible.
If your shoes have white laces, you can try soaking them in a bleach water mixture to get them bright white again. To get your shoes sparkling white again, do this paste rinse and then follow with a machine wash with detergent. Avoid putting them in the clothes dryer as this may cause them to shrink or become misshapen. Instead, allow them to air dry.
My favorite methods: For really stubborn stains on the rubber soles of tennis shoes, I have successfully used nail polish remover or a magic eraser. Another great product is Goo-gone. This is a paint and adhesive remover. I found mine at my local hardware store. It is inexpensive and works wonders on difficult stains. Of course, you will want to wear gloves to protect your hands if you use harsh cleaners.
